How it Started:
K.R.O.P.S. started as the byproduct of a bunch of former street racers raised on the promises of The Fast and the Furious franchise. We soon began to realize the hardships of street racing: fines, legal issues, safety – we decided it wasn’t worth it. From then on, we established this non-profit to give back to the community by organizing and promoting track events starting with the Southern California region.
Mission & Vision:
The mission of K.R.O.P.S. is to raise awareness about the many dangers of street racing while providing solutions on how to “Keep Racing Off Public Streets.” We envision building a strong community supporting safe and legal forms of motorsports. K.R.O.P.S. is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization in the state of California.
The problem is that many automotive enthusiasts don’t realize what they are doing when they race on the streets. They aren’t trying to hurt anyone in the process, they just simply want to go fast! The occurrences caused by this reckless behavior leads to substantial increases in costs, from property damages to legal issues, and worst of all:
The founders of K.R.O.P.S. have all had to deal with the problems and consequences of street racing. Our focus is to decrease the problem by reaching out to the community, advocating a social awareness for responsible driving, and creating a positive movement to transition racing from the streets to the tracks. K.R.O.P.S. provides and promotes safer and legal events throughout the region, making it convenient and affordable for enthusiasts to test their car and driving skills on a real race track. Street racing is inevitable but we can still do our part by educating others on the proper places to race.
